Recently Project Logistics Alliance member for Egypt, First Global Logistics successfully won the project to transport some drilling equipment for CROSCO, Integrated Drilling & Welling Services Co. Ltd. First Global has gained vast experiences due to their focus on the oil field industry, and with their cost effective and in-time-delivery proposal, they were the only company that gained approval from CROSCO for the project.
The drilling equipment must be delivered door to door from client site in Egypt to Croatia. As the cargo was too heavy and big to use normal containers, the competitions all proposed using standard breakbulk solutions. However, after a detailed study, First Global decided on using 40' open top high and 40' flat rack containers, which were shipped to Koper port Slovenia in a shorter transit time and delivered on-carriage from there to Zagreb, Croatia. This not only saved time but proved to be a cheaper solution.
The cargo consisted of:
VFD Control Unit –Hydrill unit –Saddles – other Petroleum drilling& piping tools
Equipment Used : 2*40'OTs –2*40'Flat Rack Containers
VFD Control Dimensions : 7.5*2.5*3.25 m ( 15 tons )
Piping dimensions : 10.5*2.4*2.95 m (22 tons)
In addition to the brilliant plan, First Global also took care of sending the empty containers to CROSCO's site in Borg El Arab, Alexandria, the loading of the cargo by mobile cranes, stuffing and lashing, the handling in Alexandria Port, sea freight to Koper, Slovenia, and then the on-carriage to Zagreb, Croatia.
Congratulations to First Global for the brilliantly executed project!
