With extra care and attention, the classic cars were loaded, lashed and secured into containers for shipment to Poti, Georgia and then further delivered to the appointed warehouse in the capital of Tbilisi. They were then safely unloaded and stored until the participants could take their pride possessions, fully ready, to start the 14-day Rally named “ Peaks of the Caucasus†through Georgia. Preparations started more than one year ago, with 20 participants of 9 different nationalities entering the Rally with the 20 extraordinary cars. Bati Group and Hacklin have joined forces for a Door to Port shipment of mining equipment, which totaled up to 100 Metric Tons and 1000cbm. The biggest and heaviest piece amongst all was 38 tons and had a height of 5.17 meters, and it was delivered from Turkey to Egypt. One of the main challenges was loading of the cargo safely, due to the extremely unbalanced center of gravity, which they had to overcome in a very short time. On the other hand, the road conditions were also not ideal, as the cargo was very high and the truck had to have a very low trailer to accommodate.
After much work and careful planning, the Project team at BATI GROUP is more than happy to announce the successful completion of another project alongside HACKLIN, one of their best partners in Northern Europe.
Thumbs up, guys!

Project Logistics Alliance member for Australia, Freightplus, recently completed the shipment of a 57-metre flat barge from Singapore to Adelaide, Australia.
The first challenge was the limited timeframe we were given; less than one week before shipment, Freightplus was asked to coordinate biosecurity treatment and inspections on the barge. Within a couple of hours, they had one of their biosecurity inspectors on the first flight to Singapore. Upon his arrival to site the barge was still sitting in the water, so the first task was to get the barge out of the water and onto a hard stand. Over the next 72 hours, the team removed tonnes of marine foul from the 57 x 19 metre hull, using scrapers and 10,000 p.s.i pressure washers, scrubbing the entire barge from top to bottom, inside and out.
48 hours before shipment, Freightplus was asked to arrange divers to rig the barge for lifting on board the MV HHL Richards Bay, coordinate customs clearances in Singapore and act as the buyer’s representative to sign off the barge purchase. With their inspector overseeing the entire process on the ground and the Freightplus team in Brisbane coordinating operations remotely, the barge was successfully loaded on board.
Once the barge arrived in Adelaide, Freightplus coordinated customs and biosecurity inspections, getting special permission to have the barge inspected at our customer’s private jetty.
By engaging Freightplus to conduct a pre-shipment inspection in Singapore, the client was able to save time and money in the long run as the barge was cleared by the Australian DAWR with zero remedial cleaning required.
Well done, Freightplus!

FLS Projects Vietnam completed the loading of 36 pkgs including eight 40' OT containers with break bulk and general cargo. The main cargo consists of BB Damper and Diverter Units which FLS picked up at the fabricator and then transported alongside a barge at Vietso Port. The trucking had to be done during nighttime to avoid traffic difficulties. The barge then sailed to Thi Vai General Port where the cargo has been loaded onto the berthed vessel. The cargo was loaded simultaneously both from seaside with the barge and from shore side via trucking alongside the vessel. FLS's scope included supervision, trucking and stevedores to ensure safe and professional lashing of the cargo with wooden dunnage and choking as well as securing the cargo with chains and ratchet belts. The cargo is now safe and sound on the way from Phu My, Vietnam to Norrkoping, Sweden. - Congratulations and well-done Team FLS Vietnam!
