C.H. Robinson oversaw deliveries to six new U.S. Wind Farms in 2018

The C.H. Robinson project logistics team was kept busy in 2018, delivering components for six new wind farms in the U.S. The Project Logistics Alliance member representing the US, Canada and Singapore has delivered 176 wind turbines utilizing 1,544 truckloads over the course of 23 weeks. Volume totaled 579,670 cubic meters and consisted of 51,320 metric tons of blades, towers, nacelles (machine heads), and hubs.

The experienced team of experts was deft at dealing with the multiple origins and our skilled project managers were onsite dealing with any upcoming issues. Road construction occurred without warning along some routes requiring the team to have to update existing permits. Ongoing truck and driver shortages continued to be problematic, but the strong relationships within the industry helped C.H. Robinson to mitigate any delays. At times, bad weather produced poor site conditions and made deliveries to these remote locations difficult. However, the experienced onsite project managers were able to continue to execute deliveries even during times of heavy rainfall.

Congratulations C.H. Robinson for the great achievements!
