The Project Logistics Alliance is pleased to announce the first annual meeting, scheduled in Antwerp, Belgium this April 27th & 28th 2017.
We first of all wish to thank you for the great support you gave us for the successful start-up of Project Logistics Alliance (PLA). We already get a coverage of 50 countries covered by 35 members within the first two weeks since we started!
Therefore, we plan our first annual meeting earlier as expected for the 27th and 28th April 2017 in Antwerp, Belgium.
The idea is to have the meeting following the 2 days after the Antwerp Breakbulk Exhibition/Conference, where many our members will attend to anyway, so this avoids extra traveling costs for many of you.
On 26th evening we plan to come together for some drinks and finger-food.
Further information will follow shortly. -

The Project Logistics Alliance (PLA) was founded on the 20th of December 2016 by industry experts around the globe to address the special demands of project freight forwarding. Within 11 days we were able to sign 34 individual members who represent more than 50 countries.
We hereby would like to extend our sincerely thanks to those founding members who have supported the launch of the Project Logistics Alliance. Together with you we will creating a platform on which solely industry experts can communicate and collaborate.
All of you have your own experience with networks managed by people, who are NOT from our industry. Consequently, many networks are not really serving the demands of their members.
PLA is different: it is run by PROFESSIONALS for PROFESSIONALS! The initiators have been a long time in project logistics Industry and consider PLA as a real platform to generate more business for members.
We will not focus on Apps, On-Line-Quotations for Projects, excursions, and annual meetings. We consider these things marketing gimmicks which are developed at the expense of the members and only generate marginal benefits.
We will soon have a platform, where members can exchange on upcoming projects in order to possibly combine selling forces with other members having projects at the same time/for the same region. We will have workshops for emerging markets during our annual meetings with Local experts from those markets. We will have workshops on 'specialities' that we are all confronted with when it comes to certain regions, lead by local experts.
Last but not least, we will accept only members with a proven record of projects completed. Single heavy lift shipment on some container-flat are not considered Projects.
The capped policy of 2 members per country (with the exception of India, China and USA) guarantees, that it is an almost exclusive Alliance of professionals.
We look forward to create the first network, that really deserves the word 'Project' in its name. We are confident, that with your engagement, we will accomplish these goals very soon.
Thank you!

From the beginning of November 2015 until now, PLA member FLS Thailand has moved more than 11,000 metric tons of cargo with a volume of more than 27,500 cbm to the Mae Moh project site, located approximately 600 km north of Bangkok. This equates to 800+ truckloads ranging from flat-bed to low-bed, drop deck, extendable trailers of various sizes and hydraulic trailers. The largest items transported so far were steel columns weighing about 50 metric tons each and exceeding lengths of more than 25 meters. Heavier items will be following later this year with weights ranging from 120 metric tons to 350 metric tons. In order to guarantee a steady flow of cargo to the project site, FLS Thailand keeps available more than 60 prime movers and 80 trailers of different types – all equipped with GPS, modern communication and full PPE. More than 40 well trained drivers with years of experience in trucking of oversized and heavy project cargo are on the roads for FLS daily, ensuring that the cargo arrives safely and on time at the Mae Moh project site. In addition, more than 20 people inside and outside the office are employed, including operations managers, customs specialists, cost controllers, safety officers and project managers - at port and on site. After Chana (2012), Wang Noi (2012) and North Bangkok II (2014), Mae Moh is the 4th major power plant project within Thailand for FLS in recent years.

In July 2015, Alstom awarded PLA member FLS Thailand the on-shore contract for logistics services for the Mae Moh Power Plant Unit 4-7 Replacement Project. Over the next 18 months FLS Thailand will receive and deliver more than 100,000 freight tons of break bulk cargo, more than 25,000 freight tons of containerized cargo as well as airfreight, LCL and locally supplied equipment for the Mae Moh Power Plant in the Lampang province 600 km north of Bangkok. The first shipment of nearly 7,000 cbm of structure steel arrived at Laem Chabang port at the beginning of November and FLS is currently in the third week of deliveries to the project site. In total there will be around 200 truckloads of cargo for this first shipment, with the longest items having a length of almost 24 meters and the heaviest units weighing up to 50 tons.
The second shipment of approximately 6,000 cbm structure steel is currently being loaded in Shanghai and is scheduled to arrive at Laem Chabang port in the first week of December.
