Gianti Logistics, a member of the Project Logistics Alliance representing Georgia, has successfully completed the challenging transportation of a 105-ton transformer. The primary challenge of this operation was the transformer’s non-standard dimensions, which required securing permits across multiple territories to ensure smooth transit. Additionally, the Gianti Logistics team conducted an extensive route assessment, including a test drive, swept path analysis, and stability calculations to identify potential obstacles. This precise planning was crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of the cargo.
Given the transformer’s size and weight, police escort vehicles were deployed throughout the journey to ensure secure movement. The Gianti Logistics team also worked diligently to obtain and comply with the regulatory requirements of all involved countries.

Beyond the technical and legal hurdles, the team also faced severe winter conditions. Georgia experiences intense storms during winter, leading to roadblocks and disruptions. With strict permit deadlines, the Gianti Logistics project team proactively developed contingency plans, ensuring smooth execution despite the challenging weather.
This successful operation further solidifies Gianti Logistics’ reputation as a key player in the freight and transportation industry, demonstrating the company’s ability to handle even the most complex and demanding oversized cargo projects with precision and adaptability.
