The over-dimensional cargo measured over 7.6 meters in both height and width, 19.7 meters in length, and weighed 81 metric tons. Leveraging intermodal transportation, the EFL team moved three ODC units from Phils Engineering in Mangalore to Haldia Petrochemicals in West Bengal.
To ensure safety and compliance, EFL coordinated several critical measures. These included arranging a police escort from the plant to the port, obtaining permission from railway authorities to cross tracks with the heavy cargo, and organizing temporary power shutdowns. Additionally, signage boards at the destination were dismantled to allow access, and special clearance was secured to pass beneath an overhead pipe with just 10 cm of space.

Despite challenges such as adverse weather and heavy rainfall, the team ensured the cargo was delivered safely and on time. Every step of the journey was thoroughly analyzed, carefully planned, and flawlessly executed reflecting EFL’s expertise in managing complex, end-to-end project logistics across India.
Well done, team EFL!
