Logistics Plus Powers Through Challenges in Lithuania02. September 2019
Logistics Plus, member of the Project Logistics Alliance for China, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, recently delivered 2 x 300 MVA Transformers to Lithuania.
As everyone knows in the industry, delivering heavy cargoes is always tough in ex-Soviet countries. Logistics Plus was asked to perform a very challenging project in Lithuania to deliver the heaviest transformers ever: weighing 205 metric tons each. The road project with local authorities took almost 65 days and road permits were granted in 30 days. The port and the job-site was only 400 kms apart, but due to restrictions, the final permits granted was for a 700km route via North Lithuania.
Luckily though, all permits and surveys were done on time. In addition, 2 different bridges were strengthened together with local engineering companies due to per axle tonnage restrictions in Lithuania. Logistics Plus is happy to report that the first transformer was successfully delivered in May 2019 and the second one in July 2019.
What a project! Thank you Logistics Plus for sharing!
