Conveyor Logistics Offers A Multi-Modal Solution For 91,800 MT of Cargo

Project Logistics Alliance’s Bangladeshi Member Conveyor Logistics provided transportation solutions in parentship with Daher Technologies. France-based Daher Technologies was employed by the main contractor, Suez OTV Veolia, an OTV Veolia, and Suez International joint venture.

The Conveyor Logistics team transported four high-pressure vessels with a length of 9.5 meters, a width of 4.2 meters, and a height of 4.1 meters. These pressure vessels in total weighed 91,800 MT and occupied a volume of 741 CBM. Given the extreme weight and size, the pressure vessels were transported by water on tow barges. A temporary jetty site was built on river Shitalakshiya near the project site. A lattice boom crawler with a 150-ton capacity was also set up on the jetty to aid easy discharge. The pressure vessels were re-loaded from the barge on mechanical low bed trailers for further transport to the project site in Gandharbpur.

The Conveyor Logistics team covered 290 kilometers to deliver the cargo onsite. The scope of work undertaken also included - customs clearance and tow barge loading from Chattogram’s private jetty.
