Azerbaijan Global Logistics Celebrates Membership Debut By Collaborating With Msharib Shipping & Logistics31. March 2021
Azerbaijan Global Logistics (The AGL) who just recently joined the Project Logistics Alliance is delighted to share with us the first project they completed with fellow Project Logistics Alliance member Msharib Shipping & Logistics (MSL), who is representing Afghanistan and Pakistan in our network community.
This project was completed for the government of Afghanistan, in fact, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and Development Program. Together, MSL and AGL moved a transformer of 33.5 tons a low bed and a mega trailer. The dimensions were as follows: 2.35 width x 5.7 length x 2.9 meters height.
Despite not being the biggest piece to be moved, the cargo itself was the most challenging part of this transport. There is no direct service from Turkey to Afghanistan so the teams had to go via Georgia to Azerbaijan. Transformers and the belonging equipment are considered as hazardous cargo status in Azerbaijan which required a lot of permissions and documentation. Upon arrival in the Elet Area, the cargo was transshipped with Ro-Ro services to Turkmenistan and further moved to the final destination in Afghanistan.
Mr. Mert Hazinedaroglu comments "we are glad to become a part of the [Project Logistics Alliance] family. [...] We would like to extend our gratitude to MSL for choosing us for this project!" Also from our side, we want to send congratulations to both teams. What a great way to start into the new membership, team Azerbaijan Global Logistics!
