Logistics Plus Makes Green Shipping Greener

Most of you have seen this news before; the CMA CGM Jacques Saade joined the CMA CGM fleet earlier this year on September 23rd. The 23,000 TEU container vessel is by far the largest LNG-powered container vessel and with her joining the service, our industry is taking a big step towards a greener future for container shipping.
What may be news to you is that most of the gas handling equipment on this vessel and all its upcoming sister vessels have been delivered by Logistics Plus representing China Saudi Arabia and Turkey in the Project Logistics Alliance. Most of these deliveries were made from China-based suppliers to the Chinese shipyard via a bonded logistics zone procedure in which Logistics Plus China is very specialized.

To make green shipping even greener, Logistics Plus went one step further and booked & shipped a 30-ton windmill generator on its maiden voyage from Shanghai for discharge in Southampton in early November. The generator had a diameter of 5.7 meters. This generator is amongst the 100’s of generators already shipped by Logistics Plus. We at the Project Logistics Alliance are proud to have on board members who understand the need to care for the environment and are doing their bit to help make this world a better place.
