Conveyor Logistics Takes Major Logistics Role In Bangladesh Thermal Power Plant Project

Conveyor Logistics Ltd, member of the Project Logistics Alliance for Bangladesh, has been officially nominated to handle the sheet piles and pre-tensioned spun high-strength concrete (PHC) piles for the MATARBARI 1200MW ULTRA-SUPER CRITICAL COAL-FIRED THERMAL POWER PLANT Project. The owner of the project is Coal Power Generation Company Bangladesh Limited.

Conveyor Logistics has recently completed the transportation of the 1st shipment of 400 pieces of PHC piles, which total to about 2,093.00 FRT. The total volume of PHC piles to arrive in the following shipments is approximately 200,000 FRT. The shipment was transported from the Port of Masan, South Korea to the temporary jetty of Matarbari 1200MW USC Coal-Fired Thermal Power Plant in Bangladesh by barge through the seaway. Conveyor Logistics had to engage a 150 Tonne crawler crane at the temporary jetty site to unload the PHC piles from the barge to a long-body trailer, and another 50 Tonne crane at the lay-down area for unloading from the trailer for storage. The total distance from the temporary jetty to the lay-down area is approximately 3.6km. Since there is no road access yet to the project site in Matarbari from Chattogram, in order to send the cargo and other equipment by roadway, the Conveyor Team had to move all heavy equipment, lifting devices, transporters by barge from Chattogram to the project sites temporary jetty.

Congratulations to the Conveyor Logistics team for such a large project win!
